The Other No Kings Protest

ree

By now it's no longer news that on October 18th, 2025, a No Kings protest was held across the United States protesting the immigration policies and tactics of President Donald Trump. That event has come and gone and is now a matter of history. No matter where you stand in regards to the protest that went on that day; no matter if you are a Democrat who felt the protest was just and valid or you are a Republican who saw it as nothing more than political theater, I'm going to tell you about another No Kings Protest that wasn't reported about in the national news on October 18th. This No Kings protest that has been an ongoing protest for thousands of years and reaches into the heart of every man and woman upon planet earth, no matter what their political affiliations are.

Most people know that the Bible talks about the return of Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it. But did you know the Bible declares the reason Jesus is returning to put an end to this earth and usher in the age to come, is because of a No Kings Protest?

It's true.

The very thing that, in God's eyes, necessitates this world coming to an end is because there has been an ongoing No Kings protest within the heart of His creation almost from it's very inception. A protest that He, as King, is going to bring to an end by sweeping away the old order of things and ushering in a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13).

Because, like it or not, the Bible (which is God's revelation of Himself and His purposes) declares unapologetically that Yahweh God, creator of heaven and earth, is Himself THE ultimate King over all His creation and that He holds an eternal rulership, which He shares with Jesus Christ His Son.

Consider the following declarations from the scriptures:

"Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth.

(Psalm 47:1-2 NLT)

"For God is the King over all the earth.

Praise Him with a Psalm.

God reigns above the nations sitting on his holy throne.

For the rulers of the world have gathered together with the people of the God of Abraham.

For all the kings of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere."

(Psalm 47:7-9 NLT)

"The Lord has established His throne in heaven and His Kingdom rules over all."

(Psalm 103:19 NKJV)

"The earth is the Lord's and all it's fullness, the world and those who dwell therein."

(Psalm 24:1-2 NKJV)

The unalterable truth of God's rulership was once learned the hard way by a King of the earth, named Nebuchadnezzar, who ruled over the super power of his day. The empire of Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar considered all that he possessed to be the byproduct of his great skill and military prowess, completely ignoring that there was another kingship over his own and that the rulership Nebuchadnezzar held was only because God had bestowed it on him. Ignored, that is, until the day the Lord took his sanity away, teaching him the very lesson that his lips would sing in praise about, after his sanity was restored to him.

Hear the testimony of a world leader who had his eyes opened to the truth of God's Kingship.

"After this time had passed, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven.

My sanity returned and I praised and worshipped the Most High

and honored the one who lives forever.

His rule is everlasting and His Kingdom is eternal.

All the people of the earth are nothing compared to Him.

He does as He pleases among the angels of heaven and among the people of the earth. No one can stop Him or say to Him, 'What do you mean by doing these things'."

(Daniel 4:34-35 NLT)

Nebuchadnezzar, the Donald Trump of the ancient Middle East, had to bow in acknowledgment that Yahweh God sits as ruler of this world. That He is seated on a throne of everlasting rule within an eternal kingdom. God desires all to know and acknowledge that fact, in honoring Him as our creator and King. But people resist and deny that fact, knowing that it requires the abdication of their self rule. And so an ongoing No Kings protest continues.

But the Bible also very clearly establishes another truth. That God rules over a creation that is in rebellion to Him; having fallen away from Him under the deception of a lie that said men and women could be their own kings and rule their own lives, free from the attachments of the God who created them. So, though God rules over all the earth, He achieves His purposes "in spite of" the rebellion of men and women instead of in harmony with them.

The rebellion of mankind to the Kingship of God runs through the Bible from Genesis 3 all the way through the last book of Revelation. It is the reason for God's plan of salvation, in sending His Son Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of mankind. Sins which are rooted in their rebellion to God's rulership. And as I said, it is also the reason this age will come to an end as the events of the Great Tribulation come crashing forth upon the earth. A soon coming time of His judgment and wrath when the removal of "all things that offend" from His Kingdom takes place (Matthew 13:41).

Indeed, the events of that time period are even now standing at the door of our world.

This active rebellion and repudiation of God's Kingship is stated clearly in Psalm 2, which is a prophetic psalm that unveils the heart and actions of a creation in rebellion against it's Creator and His purposed response to that rebellion. Psalm 2 begins with the ultimate No Kings protest manifesto and then proceeds to tell us God's opinion and response to that manifesto. The psalm is not just poetry. It is a snapshot of the heart of men and the response of God at the end of the age.

"Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans?

The Kings of the earth prepare for battle;

the rulers plot together against the Lord and against His anointed one.

'Let us break their chains', they cry 'and free ourselves from service to God.'

But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.

Then in anger He rebukes them, terrifying them with His fierce fury.

For the Lord declares, 'I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem,

on my holy mountain'. That king proclaims the Lord's decree:

'The Lord said to me, You are my Son, today I have become your Father.

Only ask and I will give you the nations as your inheritance and the end of the earth as your possession. You will break them with an iron rod and smash them like a clay pot."

(Psalm 2:1-9 NLT)

The No Kings chant of an unshackling and liberation from the rulership of the Lord God and His anointed that we see in Psalm 2 is repeated again in the gospel of Luke.

Except, in the parable that Jesus tells he further adds that the "anointed Son" (Himself) is going to receive the Kingdom decreed to Him by the Father within the heavens but it will not stay there.

He is going to bring His kingdom rulership to this earth. Displacing all other kingdoms and all other authorities upon it until He has restored the original unity between heaven and earth, and brings to pass God's original design, in the form of a new heaven and a new earth.

Here is Jesus parable of the closing of this age.

"The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that his kingdom would begin right away.

He said:

'A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned King and then return.

Before he left he called together ten of his servants and divided among them ten pounds of silver saying, 'Invest this (i.e. do business) for me while I am gone'.

But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say,

'We do not want him to be our King'."

(Luke 19:11-14 NLT)

Could you have a clearer declaration of the heart of men and women when it comes to Jesus Christ or His Father God? "WE DO NOT WANT HIM TO BE OUR KING".

People will tolerate Jesus as long as He doesn't interfere with their lives too much. They will embrace as much of His teachings as their flesh can comfortably handle. They'll give Him accolades like "Good teacher" or "Wise man". But yield their hearts and lives to Him as King of Kings and Lord of Lords is out of the question.

"WE DO NOT WANT HIM TO BE OUR KING" is a rebellion cry to the true reality of the created order and God will not allow man, in that state of being, to remain upon the earth.

After Jesus returns, with a dominion power that the earth and all it's technology, ingenuity, and weaponry will not be able to resist (Philippians 3:21) he first deals with his servants whom he left upon the earth to do business until he came back (verses 15-26).

Once he has judged their works and dispensed their rewards, he then turns and makes one last chilling statement.

"As for these enemies of mine who did not want me to be king-bring them in and execute them right here in front of me." (Luke 19:27 NLT)

Such was the given outcome for those in ancient days who walked in rebellion to Kings. And though such things seem long ago and far away to our modern eyes and ears, this universe is still structured on just such a Kingship and that outcome is about to fall upon the earth as the heart of men and women have not changed in their response towards the God who made it and them.

Amazing, isn't it? This isn't how people conceive of Jesus Christ, not even in the Church. That's because these words do not frame Jesus in His role as Savior but in His regal role of King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The age of grace has an ending point.

If your still wondering, "Could this is really be what happens when Jesus returns to the earth?" then consider the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15, which holds one of the most extensive talks about what occurs in the transition from this age to the next, in the entire Bible.

"After that the end will come when Jesus will turn the kingdom over to God the Father,

having destroyed every ruler and authority and power.

For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet.

And the last enemy to be destroyed is death.

For the scripture says, 'God has put all things under his authority' (Psalm 2, Luke 19)

Of course when it says all things are under his authority that does not include God Himself

who gave Christ his authority.

Then, when all things are under his authority (at the time of his return-2 Timothy 4:1) the Son will put himself under God's authority, so that God who gave his Son all authority over all things will be utterly supreme over everything, everywhere." (1 Corinthians 15:24-28 NLT)

At the close of this age the age long No Kings Protest will have been brought to an end.

The Lord will have destroyed every "ruler, authority and power" that expressed it's rebellion against Him. Both Satanic and earthly.

This is the prophetic destiny for much of mankind upon this planet. It's why in Psalm 2:1 the Lord asks, "Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans?

Because from God's perspective (and this should become our perspective) the ending, to all things of the earth, is already written. It is His plans and purposes which shall prevail, even in the midst of such staunch rebellion against them. And all the plans and purposes which man pursues, all the agendas which seem SO important to them and for which they advocate SO strongly, will vanish away as though they never were. They are in fact, plans, purposes, and agendas, of futility.

I'm sure that thought will offend many people but that is the reality of the things we strive after even without the coming of the Son of Man. Years roll by, cultures shift, institutions and governments crumble and disappear. Agendas and perspectives change and the things that people in the past fought so hard for are set aside and replaced with whatever is in vogue for a given generation. Thus marking all cultural strivings as ultimately futile, no matter how noble or needed they may be. Everything of this earth is temporary.

May I tell you that having encountered the living Christ, I assure you what the Bible describes as the end of the earth is going to be. It is even now coming to pass as marked out by the events that surround us on every side. The signs of the coming of the Lord are here. We are at the end of the story and the true King is on His way. All protests to the contrary will not make it stop.

There is another side to the story however. A good news side.

People can come out from under the universal No Kings protest. They can lay down their rebellion and come under the rulership of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. God has provided a way of escape from the wrath and judgment which will accompany the transition of the ages. And for the last 2000 years God has been gathering a people for Himself out of the nations before He enacts His judgment upon the earth. You can become a child of God, citizen of heaven, and counted among those who inherit the age to come (Matthew 25:34).

"For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NKJV)

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our savior, who desires all men (people) to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:3-4 NKJV)

"The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise (of judgment) as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach (come to) repentance."

(2 Peter 3:9 ESV)

Jesus Christ of Nazareth is risen from the dead and can be known today.

Every man and woman who is truly born of His spirit has found that out. It was the starting point of their faith in Him. Not a head faith. Not an intellectual accepting of an idea, but a faith that is of the heart, born out of a revelation. If you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and King of your own life, you can.

The Lord has provided a revelation of Himself within the Bible that His Holy Spirit will take and make it personal to you. Your revelation. Your encounter with the living Christ.

Ask Him and you will receive. Seek Him and you will find.

I counsel you to put down your agendas and the wisdom of this age and all the things that are keeping you apart from him at this moment. Embrace Jesus as your Lord and Savior and you will find the end of the story is glorious. Not to mention the life you will have in Him until that time.

For it is the thief, Satan, that comes to steal, kill and to destroy. But Jesus said, "I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior this day then do as the Bible tells you, to make that so. The pathway of new birth is found in Romans 10:8-10 and it hasn't changed since it was penned.

"If you confess with your mouth 'Lord Jesus' and believe with your heart (by a revelation He Himself provides) that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made into salvation.

For the scripture says, 'Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame'. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:8-11, 13)

Amen.

"Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus." (Colossians 1:28)
